Article reads: ST ANDREWs.-At the Annual General Meeting of the St Andrews Golf Club, held on Wed- Wednesday the 10th inst., Charles Craigie Halket, Esq. of Dumbarnie and Hallhill, was chosen Captain for the ensuing year, and on Friday last, the Gold Medal was played for, and after a keen contest, won by John Wood, Esq. Leith. The Ball in the evening was well attended, and went off in grand style. The golf reference is marked with two dots for ease of location. November 30th. Article reads: ST ANDREWS Our good town has this year renewed her youth. She is no longer the old lady of De Chalmers, with her brocade and broken tea cups, but smart and active as ever she was, even in her early days. In addition to her Colleges-the United, St Mary's, and the Madras-she possesses or is about to possess, temptations of a different description, but which, to a certain class of inhabit- ants, are not less attractive. August 7th. Article reads: GOLFING AT ST ANDREW'S. HE SILVER CLUB is appointed to be on Wednesday the 24th, and the GOLD MEDAL on played for over the LINKS of ST ANDREW's, Friday the 26th days of September next.
