R.G. Tyler Hickory Shafted Wooden Mallet Putter
A vintage golf putter featuring a hand crafted wooden mallet head and a turned hickory shaft. The club head is constructed from a dark stained hardwood, fitted with a copper alloy face plate and a full metal sole plate, both secured with four brass slotted screws. The head features a long neck joined to the shaft with traditional black thread whipping at the hosel. The hickory shaft is finished with a brown suede wrap grip, which is secured at both ends with further black thread whipping. The side of the wooden head is impressed with the name TYLER preceded by a character that appears to be a G. The metal sole plate is impressed with the name R.G. TYLER. A white adhesive paper label is attached to the sole plate with black print reading BONHAMS ESTABLISHED 1793 139 5th October 1999. A smaller yellow adhesive label is partially visible beneath the Bonhams tag, bearing the number 139.
