PING i3 Blade Iron Set in Dan Kubica Custom Wooden Presentation w/ Prototype Cavity Inserts Used in Production From Engineer That Produced Them
Our ears perked up with this lots consignor explained how he was vital in the pre-production stages of a PING line product. Engineer Timothy Flanigan went on to say that he and his company were responsible for manufacturing the weight additions to the i3 clubs and had some examples of such. Presented in this offering is the custom i3 iron set in the Club Designer Dan Kubica engraved blonde wood stepped display here, as well as those crucial although small in stature additions in which Flanigan kept. Some of the protos even have his name on them. Included are all the containments in the final photos - the part with the gold star is the very first prototype of the weight. This part was a prototype for a driver. The S/i3 is for a fairway metal. Also included is an original photograph depicting a group of individuals at the Karsten facility presenting a PING Star Supplier Award to Bergraph, Inc. dated February 2002 in this one-of-a-kind lot. The set of 12 PING i3 Blade irons features that a central oval medallion with the i / 3 logo. The hosel of the clubs features the engraved serial number 31415N. The irons are fitted with black textured PING grips with white lettering. The display case is possibly oak, with a green felt-lined backboard and a tiered base. The front of the base is engraved with the PING logo and aforementioned text CLUB DESIGNER DAN KUBICA. This provenance suggests the set was commissioned as a corporate presentation or commemorative display piece. It measures 59 1/2 x 25 1/2" and shipping cost will be based of dimensions and location.
