A collection of vintage issues of Liberty magazine, a weekly American periodical published by Bernarr Macfadden. Visible issue dates include May 18, 1935; September 23, 1939; October 7, 1939; and August 2, 1941. The publications feature editorial oversight by Fulton Oursler and William Maurice Flynn, with Heyworth Campbell as art editor. The magazine covers showcase diverse illustrative and photographic art, including a golf-themed cover by Arthur E. Jameson, a domestic scene by Cavaline, and a humorous luggage illustration by Hen. Interior content includes topical political and social commentary such as How the Communists Plan to Wreck the Country and The Hordes of Hell Now on a Rampage by Bernarr Macfadden, along with features by Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg and Will H. Hays. Each issue contains period advertisements for brands such as Coca-Cola, Camels, Chesterfield, Listerine, and Gordon's Gin. The periodicals are in a softcover format with paper wrappers, presented in an oversized quarto size. Several issues retain original paper subscription labels addressed to a subscriber in Burbank, California.
