Klin-McGill De Luxe Stainless Steel Mashie Niblick Hickory Shaft Golf Club
This antique golf club is a Mashie Niblick produced by the Klin-McGill Golf Manufacturing Company of Valparaiso, Indiana. Historically corresponding to a modern 6 or 7 iron, the club features a stainless steel head with a dot-punched face pattern and a weighted flange on the reverse. The back of the club head is stamped with an oval maker mark reading KLIN-MC GILL GOLF MFG. CO. VALPARAISO, IND. along with the script model name De Luxe and the designation MASHIE NIBLICK. The toe is stamped STAINLESS STEEL and the number 6 appears in two locations. The club is mounted on a tapered wood shaft, consistent with hickory shafts from the early 20th century. The grip consists of a brown leather wrap with black whipping at the top and bottom.
