A first edition copy of Down the Fairway: The Golf Life and Play of Robert T. Jones, Jr., co-authored by O. B. Keeler. This seminal golf autobiography was published in New York by Minton, Balch & Company in 1927. The volume is an octavo bound in the publisher's original green cloth with a tan cloth spine. The front cover is stamped in gold gilt with the title and authors' names above a gilt illustration depicting two crossed golf clubs. The spine features the title and authors' names in gold. The title page confirms the publication date of 1927 and features the publisher's device of a swan within a diamond containing the letters M B.
The interior is illustrated with a black-and-white photographic frontispiece of Bobby Jones with a caption, and numerous black-and-white photographic plates throughout the text documenting golf techniques and tournament play. The front free endpaper contains pencil notations reading mb-35, 1st ed, and 225- in the upper right corner. A circular orange adhesive label is present on the rear free endpaper bearing handwritten text in red ink: 124, M-408, BK..
