Golf Themed Ceramic Earthenware Pitcher, Mug, & Bowl

Here are three (3) ceramic pieces believed to be made by an English company known as Gibson’s. A ceramic mug featuring a cream-colored body decorated with a wraparound scene of transfer-printed or hand-painted figures in old golf attire. The underside of the piece features an unglazed foot ring and a hand-painted mark in green reading 383. The glaze shows a fine network of crazing throughout. The English earthenware mixing bowl or pudding basin features a flared conical form with a wide, hand-painted orange band at the rim. The white-glazed exterior is decorated with polychrome transfer-printed satirical scenes of golfing in the early 20th century. The vignettes depict a woman putting while accompanied by other golfers, a man recording scores, and various caddies carrying golf bags. The base features a black transfer-printed mark consisting of the letter C above a cursive Gibson's, followed by BURSLEM and ENGLAND. Additionally, the base bears two impressed marks: the number 30 and the word ENGLAND. Three notches are present on the unglazed foot rim. The antique ceramic pitcher features a matching lid and is decorated with transfer-printed or hand-painted satirical scenes of Edwardian-period golfers. The decorative motifs depict multiple figures in vintage golf attire, including men in knickerbockers and flat caps, and women in long skirts and hats, with some scenes including young caddies carrying golf bags. The lid is similarly decorated with small golf-themed figures and features a loop finial. The underside of the base shows no legible maker's marks or stamps. The glaze across the entire body exhibits fine crazing, and minor surface soiling is present around the foot rim. 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" - 7 1/2" x 6" x 9".
