Champion Edoardo Molinari Signed Tournament Used 2005 US Amateur at Merion Caddie Bib w/ Badge & Yardage Guide From Caddie
"You've done a great job!!! Thank you so much!!! Ed Molinari," the front of this special, winning bib was signed and inscribed to consignor and winning caddy Trevor Harvey. Harvey will never forget when he wore it to team up with Molinari to conquer the field at Merion Golf Club at the 2005 U.S. Amateur Championship proudly donning the bib with 'MOLINARI' nameplate. The 75th anniversary of Bobby Jones' completion of the Grand Slam there at the 1930 US Amateur was celebrated that week.
Added to this offering were his tools of the trade that week: his caddie badge, and the heavily used official yardage book grinding on that hot day under the bright USGA lights. The white mesh caddie bib features the blue United States Golf Association (USGA) logo and seal on the reverse. The caddie credential features a historical image of Bobby Jones on the front with tournament details for August 22–28, 2005. The reverse of the credential bears a signature in purple ink with the handwritten notation WACC 05. The official yardage book for Merion Golf Club's East Course features the club's wicker basket logo and the year 1896 on the cover. "Is it okay that I signed it?" Harvey asked refering to the back of the badge - of course, you won Trevor! The interior of the yardage book, that comes in two pieces, contains extensive handwritten notes, yardage calculations, and a handwritten score tally reading: FINAL 72+4 76 WACC. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
