1958 Letter To Bobby Jones From Architect George W. Cobb w/Augusta Content with Response
'Dear Mr. Jones - I would be pleased to undertake the project of making up a set of drawings of all the individual holes at Augusta National Golf Club for your use in revising the 'Masters Tournament Spectator Suggestions." Additionally Cobb speaks about the the Augusta National property changes on holes "over last several years" and utility installations such as water, power, television and telephone cables, gas, etc. Cobb's drawing for Jones was to show all of this for each hole. This letter was typed and signed by Cobb on his personal letterhead to Jones the same year, 1958, that he designed the Par 3 Course on Augusta National Golf Club grounds. This letter details his costs and approach to the Augusta National Golf Club depiction and concludes "I would be pleased to have the privilege of working with you on the new book." Significant content from the course designer to the great Bobby Jones is found in this missive spanning 1 1/4 pages.
