1930 US Amateur at Merion Official Scorecard - Bobby Jones Grand Slam
Representing final leg of the Grand Slam of Majors won by Bobby Jones is this scorecard from Merion Golf Club. George Trevor sportswriter for the New York Sun would phrase Jones' four Major triumphs in 1930 as such, "stormed the impregnable quadrilateral of golf." This is one of the more challenging official tournament scorecards to locate in any condition, and like Jones' performance in 1930, this one excels! Comprised of heavy stock paper which is center-folded in typical "thirties" generation scorecard fashion. This United States Golf Association scorecard from the 1930 U.S. Amateur contested at the historic Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania East Course presents unscored with only a hint of age markings over its free from crease surface. The print remains strong, with the stymie measure on the frontside of the scorecard. The immortal Bobby Jones' would produce the last of four legs building his greatest career achievement over the daunting course. This treasured vintage keepsake captures the course hole-by-hole as Jones faced it in 1930 at Merion - a grail for scorecard collectors, as well as those with a Bobby Jones emphasis.
