Very good condition Waverley Horton "Wonder Club" combination wood. This club is a 42 inch driver or brassy marked 'Waverley Horton / Wonder Club / Pat'd December 7 1920" on the top of the head. In addition to having a wood block inside an aluminum frame, the head has a large brass backweight(Backweight remains in nice condition).The hosel of this club does show wear. The Horton Golf Co. from Chicago, only offered the Wonder Club for a few years. You can read more about this club in the book, "The Club Makers Art", page 296. Wood shaft is almost straight and the original 12 inch leather wrap grip is tight and in very good condition. This club which had a short window of production is one you rarely see for sale. This lot comes from the Original estate of John Arthur Brown. Brown was the president of Pine Valley Golf club from 1928 till his death in 1977. His collection was amassed over decades of collecting only the best of the best in golf memorabilia. Enjoy these great pieces of golf memorabilia from a legendary club administrator, representing the USA's most famed course.
