Circa 1920 G. MacGregor Dayton Ohio Wooden-Head Mallet Putter with Brass Face & Hatched Scoring
John MacGregor and Edward Canby joined forces in 1896 to form "Crawford, MacGregor, & Canby." They became the first American manufacturer of golf clubs. In the 1930's the company was acquired by the Goldsmith Company and shortly there after became just MacGregor. Offered here is a MacGregor mallet putter, circa 1920, with a screw face insert. The putter comes with a shaft stamp from John MacGregor and Edward Canby in Dayton, Ohio. This putter measures 34" to the heel. Both the head and the grip show wear, please see photographs.
