c. 1900 J.H. Taylor Champion Golfer Series Postcard
This postcard depicts John Henry Taylor (“J. H.” ) in his backswing and
dates to circa 1900. It was part of a series published by Raphael l Tuck
& Sons.
Taylor, The five time Open champion was part of “The Great
Triumvirate along with Harry Vardon and James Braid. He
won his first Open Championship in 1894 and his fifth in 1913
and None of his Open wins came by less than four strokes.
This unused postcard in overall good condition also contains a
nice biography on the back up through his 1900 Open win.
Other postcards in this scarce series include those of Harold
Hilton, Jack White, Harry Vardon and John Ball. This J.H.
Taylor postcard would make a good first step in a goal to collect
them all.
