c.1990's Jack Nicklaus Vantage Championship Used 'NICKLAUS' Caddy Bib
As somewhat of a rarity, the Golden Bear's tournament-used 'Vantage Championship' white 'NICKLAUS' caddy bib from the 18-time major winner is available to the public in this lot via the collection of Arnold Palmer's longtime caddy Wayne Beck. Exhibiting welcomed usage, it is two-sided with a cut in the left of the backside nameplate. How often to Jack Nicklaus gamers come about? Not often by any stretch of the imagination and the bidding public knows that. Jockey with bids for this prize that identified Jack Nicklaus for the gallery and viewers at home.
The bib is constructed from heavy off-white canvas, with a sewn on nameplate and not the more common velcro. The front panel is printed with the Vantage Championship logo, featuring Vantage in blue block lettering and Championship in black cursive script with a gold-toned outline, accompanied by a circular red, blue, and gold-colored concentric ring logo. The back panel features the same tournament branding with the addition of a non-removable white fabric nameplate. The nameplate is printed with NICKLAUS in black block type. The Vantage Championship was held annually from 1986 to 2002 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, North Carolina.
