c.1940's Babe Zaharias Wilson 'Golf Clubs For Women' Standup Cardboard Point of Sale Display
This 1940's Wilson 'Golf Clubs for Women' cardboard point of sale advertising standup of Babe Didrikson depicts a Babe when she was sitting on top of the Women’s game prior to her untimely death from illness. Her name would change in 1938 when she married famous wrestler George Zaharias, printed in black just below with her legal name 'Mildred.' This unlikely paper survivor boasts vibrant color and strong graphics nearly 80 years since it attracted attention in a pro shop or sporting goods store. The Babe is post-swing donning a marigold sweater and white skirt with matching socks and shoes respectively in the cutout. This Olympic gold medalist and golf's Major Champion was secured by Wilson to represent the company for promotional purposes just like the presentation being offered here. 7 1/2" x 12 1/4"
