c.1901 Taylor Tunnicliff & Co. Golf Scene Tobacco Jar
Taylor Cunnicliff Co outfitted this Tobacco Jar with one of the most scenic wrapped golf scenes you will find in the pottery category. A red jacket gentleman mid-swing with caddie in front of a mountainous backdrop. The company founded in 1867 by Thomas Taylor (b.1833 in Birmingham, England) and Major WIlliam Tunnicliff which was then sold with assets to Taylor Tunnicliff & Co Ltd in 1901. This example remains in very good condition, with color that pops off the cylinder for a marquee display. The jar's top turns with ease for removal when rotated to match up with the correct orientation. 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 5 3/4"
