c.1894 W. M. Lowe Buxton Warranted Hand Forged Patent with Shaft Stamp Putter
Work of the clubmaker William Lowe that was born in the golf-centric Carnoustie, Scotland in 1862, his full-time job was head professional at Buxton and High Peak Golf Club. His signature club here is that of extreme originality. While there is normally a transition from the hosel to the head, this putter Lowe designed to have a continuation of the hosel on the back of the head all the way through. The 1894 patent was never approved despite the 'patent' shallow engraving on the head. This is a club that you would remember seeing if you have, and more than likely you haven't as they don't hit the auction block with any stable frequency. This example remains in good condition with all stamps legible and the shallow groves on the face distinct. 33"
