c.1870 Gutty Ball with Intricate & Unique Circle Designs & Mold Mark
Examine and notice intricate and unique circle designs and mold marking on this fine gutty ball exemplar from circa 1870. Perhaps red/orange as the winter balls were for the golfers attempting to defy the season. Excellent texture and detail is found in this highly unique striped and circle design breaking each side into a quadrant. The exceeding scarcity of this 150 year old golf ball cannot be emphasized enough, surfacing for auction only on rare occasion and this example straight from a mature, highly advanced collection. This spectacular sphere demands inclusion in the finest ball collections and those with a focus on the rich history of the game of golf.
