c1950's Early Autoette 'The Spirit of St. Andrews' Green Golf Cart with Trailer
Painted in stylized and time-period white with black shadow wispy scribe is 'The Spirit of St Andrews' on the hood of this vibrant green c. 1950's Early Autoette golf cart complete with the trailer. 'The Spirit of St Andrews' is not currently in working condition, as evident by the photos it is in need of a new battery and other maintenance repairs. The winning bidder is purchasing in “as is” condition without any right of return. A cartoon golf ball with a halo above its head is depicted flying from below the name around to the left side. The green fabric top with a series of white strings hanging down from each side is a nod to the style of the day. A padded green bench seat with white trim adds comfort to style for these four wheels. The consignor's best friend's grandparents, Victor and Joan Mclean, owned it and were members of The Springs Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA. They brought it up to Vancouver and at one point gifted it to Shaughnessy Golf Club, but Joan then retrieved it later. The golf cart then passed onto their daughter, who had planned to revive it and use it for the horse shows. The sale of this cart will be used to generate funds for the UBC golf team.
