Apollo 14 Alan Shepard 1971 Golf Shot on the Moon Novelty Watch - Swiss Made
Alan B. Shepard, Jr. had the honor of being the fifth person to walk on the surface of the moon, and the only member of the original Mercury Seven astronauts to walk on the moon. Shepard holds a "first" in the sports world as well. As a member of the Apollo 14 crew (the third successful lunar landing) in 1971, Shepard took a NASA moon tool and attached the head of a six iron, then proceeded to swing at a golf ball he had brought with, sending it "miles and miles" into the sky. Presented here is a Swiss Made watch that commemorates Shepard's historic "moon shot." This watch is a mechanical wind watch and not a battery operated quartz watch. Currently the watch is not working. The watch band is stamped "Corfam," a type of synthetic leather.
