'The Golf Clan Is Gathering' Pinehurst Canvas Painting by Artist Robert Fletcher
When the World Golf Hall of Fame and US Open returned to what many consider the United States' home of golf in 2024, Pinehurst, it was only fitting that the Golf Heritage Society Annual Convention be held at that historic location too. Who better to commission for the official meeting art than revered artist and devoted member Robert Fletcher? What Fletcher considers a life-long project, as his skills and body of work has been channeled into his most recent (and one of the most important by many standards) paintings showcased in this exhibiting titled 'The Golf Clan is Gathering.' Highly acclaimed artist Fletcher took select artistic liberties in creating this mixed pair, the lady golfer dressed as a turn-of-the-century player next to a gentleman that was in part inspired by Payne Stewart who's signature win came at Pinehurst in 1999. Using the colors of the Pinehurst clubhouse is the structure positioned off in the distance and to the left of the figures. This exact image never took place, but in Fletcher's mind; and that of many others that not just visited for the spectacular event, but the spectacular Pinehurst, North Carolina. Proudly presented is the original masterpiece here.
Renown golf industry artist Robert Fletcher has dedicated nearly 40 years to refining his craft in the fine arts. His works are exhibited on the historic grounds of Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in bronze busts, prior to participating as a lead artist in a recent Golf Heritage Society Meeting art workshop. A recent success of his was work that was used as a tribute to the course architect team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw at the Colorado Golf Club. Robert has a unique style, with a mix of realism and and shadowing resulting in an almost a mythic result. This offering is for a tastefully framed original oil on canvas of Pinehurst titled 'The Golf Clan is Gathering' by Robert Fletcher, with the prized artist's signature painted in the bottom left-hand corner. 24" x 30"
