Vintage Jas. B. Halley and Co. Maxwell Stainless Niblick Golf Club with Hickory Shaft
An English-made vintage niblick golf club featuring a stainless steel head and a tapered hickory wood shaft. The club head is designed in the Maxwell style, notable for twelve circular perforations drilled through the hosel, a design feature intended to reduce heel weight. The back of the club head contains several stamped marks. A stamp at the top left reads MADE IN ENGLAND above the number 29. Centered is an oval mark containing the text JAS B. HALLEY and CO MAKER LONDON. Below this, the words STAINLESS MAXWELL NIBLICK are stamped in block letters, followed by Special in a scripted, underlined font. A circular mark on the right side reads WARRANTED HAND FORGED. Between the top and center stamps is a cleek mark depicting two crossed golf clubs. The striking face features a dot-punch pattern within a rectangular boundary. The shaft is made of dark wood and is fitted with a black leather wrap grip. 36"
