Vintage Cast Metal Golfer Ashtray and Matchbox Holder Attributed to Dunlop
This vintage tobacciana piece features a cast metal golfer figurine, historically identified as the Dunlop Man mascot, characterized by a head and neck with a dimpled golf ball texture. The figure is hand-painted and depicted in mid-putt, wearing a red jacket, black knickers, white gaiters, and a brown tam-o-shanter cap. The golfer is mounted on a green-painted metal base simulating a putting green, complete with a small molded golf ball. Attached to the base is a circular, plated metal ashtray with a concentric ring pattern in the well. The ashtray features two cigarette rests and an upright matchbox holder. The entire underside of the metal assembly is finished with green felt. 7" x 5" x 6"
