Unknown Maker Long Nose Driver - Lambskin Grip, 44” Tall - Very Good Condition, Minor Wear
Contained in this offering is a light wood long nose driver. Complete with lambskin grip and a rams horn sole insert, this antique golf club presents well. Commonplace in the mid to late 1800's was it for tradesmen to produce clubs for a small portion of their day as a supplementary income, often not stamping their club or finding importance in branding. This is a fine example of that. There is very slight protrusion of the lead weight in the head, common of clubs from this time period. There is nicking and scratching, normal indications of club usage. Picture #5 shows the small cracks that are in the bottom of the toe. Picture #11 includes the specific head measurements that are pertinent to vintage golf clubs such as this one. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
