Two Vintage Commemorative Golf Balls Featuring Joe Garagiola Tucson Open and Jerry Ford Invitational
This lot features two vintage commemorative golf balls representing prominent celebrity-hosted golf tournaments, housed in an associated presentation box.
The first ball is a Spalding Top-Flite 4. The face features a circular maroon logo with a stylized character wearing a sombrero and mustache, surrounded by the text Joe Garagiola Tucson Open. The side is marked SPALDING and the opposite face is marked TOP-FLITE 4. The Joe Garagiola Tucson Open was a PGA Tour event hosted by the Major League Baseball player and broadcaster from 1968 to 1982.
The second ball is a RAM 1. The face features black text reading JERRY FORD INVITATIONAL above a red numeral 1. The opposite face is marked RAM. The Jerry Ford Invitational was a pro-am celebrity tournament hosted by former President Gerald Ford in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado, beginning in 1977.
The balls are presented in a black paperboard Titleist-branded two-ball presentation box. The lid features a clear window and is printed with the Titleist logo and the tagline #1 ball in golf. Note that the presentation box is associated and does not match the manufacturers of the golf balls.
