Two Original 1975 Masters Tournament Ephemera Items Including Spectator Guide and Saturday Pairings Sheet
This lot consists of two original paper ephemera items from the 1975 Masters Tournament held at Augusta National Golf Club, the year Jack Nicklaus won his fifth Masters title. The first item is a softcover spectator guide titled Spectator Suggestions for the Masters Tournament. The green and white cover displays a partial course map highlighting the clubhouse area and holes 1, 8, 9, and 10. Credited to Robert T. Jones, Jr., the booklet contains tournament records from 1934 through 1974, spectator conduct instructions, and detailed course maps for both nines. The maps include hole distances, par ratings, and designated star locations for optimal viewing. The second item is a single-sheet pairings and starting time document for Saturday, April 12, 1975. This sheet lists the third-round pairings, including notable entries for Jack Nicklaus paired with Billy Casper, Jr. at 2:10 PM and Arnold Palmer paired with Tom Watson at 2:02 PM. Other featured golfers include Lee Trevino, Gary Player, and Johnny Miller. The document records starting times, caddie numbers, player nationalities, and total scores from the first two rounds. It also includes sections for non-participating invitees such as Gene Sarazen, Byron Nelson, and Claude Harmon.
