Tony Lema Signed 1965 Masters Tuesday Ticket #314 with Sarazen, Wall, & others
With excellent eye appeal and significance comes this Tony Lema Signed 1965 Masters Tuesday Ticket #314 with penmanship from Gene Sarazen, Art Wall, & others. The blue ticket boasts jet black print on the front and reverse. Well preserved and cherished since its issuing 55 years ago, the dark blue ballpoint pen signatures of many late major champions are found with deliberate placement on the front and back of this ticket. 1965 marked the 30th anniversary of signer Gene Sarazen's miracle double eagle at 15. These include Tony Lema, who's life was cut short the next year after a tragic plane crash. Jack Nicklaus would win his first of two consecutive Masters titles in 1965, the first to defend their title in the tournament's the 30 plus year history. Billy Casper, Bobby Nichols, George Bayer and Dow Fisterwald are also on this ticket in uniform pen. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
