Tommy Bolt's 1958 Masters Tournament Official Contestant Badge #65
With only 86 contestants appearing in the 1958 Masters, this red and white 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" plastic Augusta National shield badge is highly elusive to Masters collectors. With badge #1 going to the past years champion each badge is then issued according to when the player shows up for the Masters and registers for the tournament. In 1958, Tommy Bolt received #65 as would also be listed on the Masters pairing sheet from that year only months away from being crowned by the USGA as their Open Champion. With original pin still in place, this contestants pins memorable Augusta National design packs a big punch in the way of Masters collectables. An added plus is the fact that this high quality example comes from a well known player, even better a major winner that year (1958 U.S. Open), but an even bigger plus that it was an Arnold Palmer's very first Masters' victory.
