Tom Morris 1908 Funeral Invitation at St. Mary's Church in St. Andrews
Golf ephemeral collectors will have their eyes on this historic document. The bifold 1908 memorial service program for Scottish golfer Tom Morris-widely known as Old Tom Morris and The Grand Old Man of Golf, there in St Andrews for the event with few that remain to this day. This remains in very good condition with the slight detractor being the compact folds consistent with the time and often to fit in a gentleman's front suitcoat pocket. Morris came second in the first Open Championship in 1860, and won the event in 1861, the first year that was open to amateurs. The program is dated May 27, 1908, and was produced for the service held at St. Mary's Church in the Home of Golf, Scotland. The interior of the program details the Order of Service.
