Tiger Woods' 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black Player Gift Plaque

When Tiger Woods arrived at the 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York the spotlight was bright - Tiger was used to that though. Brighter than normal even? Perhaps, and It would make sense as he returned to the only course with a 'Warning' sign as both the defending US Open champion and the Tillinghast designed venue's defending major champion - victor seven years prior. Commissioned by the USGA for its participating contestants that week, including Woods who's was produced first as defending champion, with this distinguished 15x12 engraved plaque with the tournament and Bethpage-specific "Caddy Boy" logo with a lighter wood tone for welcomed contrast. Below is the highly significant personalized nameplate that the USGA used to identify this plaque's specific recipient in gold - 'Tiger Woods.' Woods would not repeat in 2009, but finish top-10 (t-6th) and leave this plaque behind at the tournament, perhaps not enough room in the then already crowded trophy cabinet. It's now ready for display in that of the winning bidder's.
