Tiger Woods Signed c1992 Original 'A Letter to the Youth of America' Letter
What would Tiger Woods write in a letter to his classmates about life at just 16 years old? Before you is just that - prep megastar Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods' c.1992 signed 'Letter to the Youth of America' rather matter-of-factly written applying his sophomore English class teachings at Western High in Anaheim, CA! Of course he would occasionally miss class for obligations such as participating in the 1992 Los Angeles Open on the PGA Tour naturally. Mature, intelligent, grounded, and focused Tiger was, obliging Jesse W. Randolph's request while just a youth himself - one quickly gaining a platform. The intense military background which Woods grew up with under the tutelage of his father is increasingly apparent. So was the realization that Tiger's days of passing notes in the hallway was over for the then adolescent that would soon take over all of sport. The confident Woods had a feeling that might be the case and this early c.1992, even stating 'Someday I hope to be on the PGA Tour...' On the heels of presenting Tiger Woods' signed 1992 LA Open ticket and a signed original photo from his first swing at that event, here is from the same Randolph Collection his c.1992 signed letter titled 'A Letter to the Youth of America' as is the publication in which it is featured.
"There are no short cuts in golf - you get out of it what you put into it. Those words were taught to me by my father when I was very small and are equally important in golf and in life. You see I learned everything I know about life from the game of golf. It taught me patience, honestly, to work hard. to accept responsibility for my actions, to think and plan before acting, to get along with others and above all to get an education. Dumb golfers are not successful golfers. Junkies do not cut it on th(e) golf course. So think hard when you don't feed(l) like studying, hit the books, stay in school and leave drugs alone. Someday I hope to be on the PGA golf tour with an education and drug free. You too can make a success of you(r) life in whatever area you choose. Just choose to stay in school and without drugs. Everything you do in life you have a choice - the choice is yours." - Tiger Woods
