Why does Tiger Woods wear red on Sunday? Stanford color? Happenstance turned to superstition? It's "because [his] mom thinks that is [his] power color. Tiger Woods told media outlet 'GolfMagic' when posed with the question everyone was thinking since 1996, "And, you know, you should always listen to your mom." Can't argue with Tiger, his mom Tida, or success for that matter. Each one of his 82 PGA Tour records including the 15 majors were won by the big cat donning his famous red Nike colors. A prime Tiger Woods signed this late 1990's - early 2000's red Nike shirt with his large jet black time-period sharpie signature on the chest for maximum aesthetic appeal. This is the same shade and sleeve insignia that Woods donned at the 2000 US Open, a Stanford red of sorts. Tags are still attached to this new shirt that sports one of the first Tiger Woods Nike golf line logos on the sleeve and on the inside hang tag. It was sent from Tiger to a 'grand slam sponsor' after their contribution to the Tiger Woods Foundation at an event in Birmingham. Including in this lot is the original handwritten note from Tiger Woods' office team member Stacy Stark. On Tiger Woods Foundation company stationary: "Enclosed is your 'Sunday Red' Nike shirt autographed by Tiger Woods. Thank you for being a Grand Slam sponsor at the Tiger Woods Foundation fundraising dinner auction in Birmingham - Stacy." This shirt is unworn, and was originally donated by the Tiger Woods Foundation for being a Grand Slam Sponsor.
