A Tiger Woods signed golf ball is difficult to come by, regarded as one of the toughest autographed golf balls to obtain with his long stance on not signing the challenging medium. At this point it's common knowledge in the industry. Around the time Tiger Woods won the 1997 Masters Tournament, if not just prior, he all but stopped signing golf balls. Economics 101 suggests a raise in value will occur with an item in which supply outweighs demand, the rather obvious situation for this collectible. While he stopped for the public, he signed on very, very rare occasion for a select few in his inner, inner circle - be it business or friends. Here we have the golf icon's early 2000's signature penned in black marker on a Nike TI-Velocity 4 logo ball. The often preferred formation, very similar to that found on his early pack-pulled Upper Deck cards, is found here. It is the same ball type and similar signature to the example that was offered in our previous auction achieving $4,385 after 33 bids. That ball received a 9 auto grade, with this a better example in our opinion. Top eye appeal and scarcity to match, Tiger Woods' signed golf balls are of legendary status within the industry paralleling the subject. PSA/DNA has reviewed this signature and their FULL letter of authenticity #AQ05250 comes with this lot, with a picture of the signature and ball in their online database when searched for verification.
