Tiger Woods’ 2000 PGA Valhalla “Tiger Slam” Tournament Used 18th Hole Cup with Letter
Here we proudly present a true iconic and historically significant 18th Hole Golf Cup from the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club. This Cup was used the entire tournament including the playoff which finished on the 18th hole.
Woods was pushed to the limit by Bob May in this 82nd PGA Championship and had to birdie the 18th hole in regulation to force a playoff. Tiger won the Championship’s first-ever three-hole aggregate score playoff which included a memorable par save putt on the 18th hole to earn his second Wanamaker Trophy.
Woods became the first player since Ben Hogan in 1953 to win three major titles in one year. He also erased a PGA jinx by capturing back-to-back Championships, the first to do so since Denny Shute (1936-37). Bob May also made a spectacular putt on the 18th hole on Sunday to force the playoff. Needless to say this Cup saw a lot of action and all golf fans were captivated by the level of play displayed by May and Woods! The 2000 PGA Championship was the critical 3rd leg of the “Tiger Slam.”
This historic Cup was obtained from the Valhalla Golf Course Superintendent Mark Wilson shortly after the tournament and is accompanied with a typed letter on Valhalla letterhead hand signed by Superintendent Wilson. It was donated by the Valhalla Course Superintendent to a Florida Youth Foundation and subsequently obtained by our consignor roughly 20 years ago and has sat in his climate controlled and dark closet ever since. The Cup is beautifully mounted in this deluxe acrylic display along with a photo of Tiger on the 18th green and the letter of provenance from Vallhalla Golf Club Golf Course Superintendent Mark Wilson. Here is your one and only chance to own this Tiger Slam game used 18th Hole Cup from Tiger’s magical run! 11 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 34 1/2" & Weighs approximately 19 lbs.
