Tiger Woods Signed 1995 James E. Sullivan Memorial Award Program w/others
For the second year in a row Tiger Woods was asked to join the top amateurs across sport as a finalist of the 1995 James E. Sullivan Memorial Award for its presentation. Our consignor was fortunate enough as the plus one of an honored guest to attend this evening. The young Stanford golfer that didn't lose, especially when it came to USGA events - winning each US Junior Amateur and Amateur starting in 1991 through 1996 when he turned pro. In close proximity to his sophomore collegiate golf photo is Woods' 19-year-old time-period black sharpie signature in the desirable formation that collectors know from this short year to two years span. How was the encounter with Tiger Woods? "He was cool, but busy. He wasn't quite the big deal that he came to be," the consignor remembered. When Pac-10 Player of the Year is listed in Woods' credentials, with all respect the conference - bigger things were coming. Also included are signatures from some of the other award finalists including: Brian Baumgartner (winner), Michael Johnson, and Gwen Torrence. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
