Tiger Woods Signed 1993 Sunnehanna Amateur Program & Sunday Ticket
'Playing days' signatures are one of the fastest growing hobby nuances, with 'rookie' or 'pre-rookie' signatures heavily preferred in the collecting community - when available. That is what we have here, 17-year-young Tiger Woods signed this 1993 Sunnehanna Amateur program. For perspective it was: a year before his first US Amateur win, three before his professional debut and four before his 1997 Masters win! A flawless time-period blue ballpoint signature from June 11-13, 1993. His ever-changing signature would shorten up in 1994 before it would again elongate, this being the prep star's less-practiced and less-given time-period formation in which you could read every letter.
Bright eyes with a slender frame, he was a Junior in high school just trying to be an average kid. 1993 Sunnehanna Amateur "Tournament of Champions," at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania marked Woods' second straight year. The program features a printed course map, patron lists, historical information about the course, and biographical "Thumbnail Sketches" of the amateur participants. On page 7, there is a printed biographical entry for "WOODS, Tiger" from Cypress, California, noting his achievements as a two-time U.S. Junior Champion.
Past champions of this tournament considered to be one of the top stages in amateur golf include Tommy Aaron (1959), Ben Crenshaw (1973), Webb Simpson (2006), Rickie Fowler (2007,08), and Colin Montgomerie (2016). .
