Here are Three (3) 1846-1847 North of Scotland Gazette Newspapers w/Various Silver Cup, Gold Medal Results & other Content. They are as follows. June 2nd. Article reads: An attempt is also about to be made to satisfy the inhabitants of Montrose, who, by the bye, have been particularly ill to please in the matter. a conference is about to take place between the authorities and the Directors as to the most eligible direction to have a branch railway brought into the town. By approaching the town on the west side, As will be seen below, - the opposition of the " Royal Prince Albert Golf Club" will be avoided, and however strange it is, it appears better policy to study its wishes than to consult what is the best means of connecting the traffic with the Dock or Harbour.

Second piece reads: THE GOLF CLUB.-The annual competition for the Gold Medal of the Aberdeen Golf Club, took place here on Saturday last the 30th ult. There was a numerous company of the Members on the Links, and after some excellent play, Basil Fisher, Esq. and Captain Charles Skene were found equal. These parties therefore played other four holes, the of last of which, having been won by Mr. Fisher by one stroke, he was declared the winner of the medal. The Annual Dinner took place in the Aberdeen Hotel, in the afternoon, James Hadden, Esq., the Captain, in the chair, when a very handsome Silver Cup and Salver, the gift of David Morice Johnstone, Esq. of London, was presented to the Club. New matches were made, several new members proposed, and the evening was spent with that good feeling which characterizes all the meetings of this excellent Society. October 5th. Article reads: ABERDEEN GOLF CLUB.-On Thursday the 30th ult., the Silver Cup, presented to the Club by David Morice Johnston, Esq. of London, was played for on our Links here, and won by Arthur Thomson, Esq., Banker, the Secretary to the Club.The golf reference is marked with two dots for ease of location. Article reads: ROYAL ALBERT GOLF CLUB.-The annual competition for the original gold medal of this Club took place on Wednesday when a large number of competitors appeared on the field. The day was very boisterous: but nevertheless the science of the game was displayed in great perfection, and the skill of the players was evident from the few strokes in which the course was holed. After a very keen competition the successful competitor was declared to be O'Brien Peter, Esq. merchant, Dundee, who holed the links at 96 strokes. There was a number of other players close upon him, and the score of the former medal holder was considerably less, but as that player did not compete for the medal, it could not be reckoned.-Montrose Standard.The golf reference is marked with two dots for ease of location.
