Three Handle Copeland Spode
Here lies a vintage Copeland Spode golf themed mug surrounded by not one, or two, but three handles! Josiah Spode established his ceramics company in 1776 after spending several years working for other local potteries. Like his friend and neighbor Josiah Wedgwood, Spode focused on making the highest quality ceramic wares. With a relief golf scene in light grey on the deep blue background, this ornate, detailed English stamped mug presents very well. There are multiple stamps on the bottom of the pottery piece from the Copeland maker. There are no chips or cracks throughout this vintage piece, only light wear that is detailed in the accompanying lot photos. 5 1/8" with 5" diameter
