St. Andrews Golf Productions Presents Young Tom's Clubs w/Old & Young Tom Glass Dome in Original Box
Resting on the rack are the miniature and highly detailed silver hallmarked Young Tom's Clubs as notated on the encompassing glass dome: Play club, long spoon, baffie, cleek, and putter. The four-time Open Champion's depiction is in white almost as if he is looking over the clubs on the opposite side of the aforementioned dome. 'Young Tom's Clubs' is engraved on the gold-tone nameplate on the cylindrical wooden base in which it rests. This was produced by 'St Andrews Golf Reproductions and titled on the box top featuring the famous image of the father-son Old and Young Tom Morris: "The Tom Morris Woods and Young Tom's Locker." The original packaging in which it is housed contains a form-fitting foam inset with a spot for the globe on base and the group of five clubs as depicted in the accompanying lot photos. It is similar in fashion to the 1987 Memorial Tournament set, made by the same maker, that was instead presented inside a locker with hinged door instead of this glass dome on stand. These were silver replicas of the clubs the Morris' used in the 1800's while winning a combined eight British Opens, preserved to very good condition. Each sterling silver club is hallmarked on the grip as shown in the accompanying lot photos.
