Spalding Gold Medal #3 Mashie Hickory Shaft Golf Club Hammer Brand
A vintage Spalding Gold Medal #3 mashie golf club featuring a forged iron head and a hickory wood shaft. The face of the club head is designed with a circular punched dot-face pattern. The back of the iron head bears several stamped marks: a central oval contains the word SPALDING on the upper half and GOLD MEDAL on the lower half. Above this oval is the word ACCURATE positioned over a right-pointing arrow symbol. Below the oval is a stamped number 3. Flanking the central oval are two stamped four-leaf clover symbols. To the left side of the head is a vertical stamp reading HAMMER above the word BRAND, accompanied by a hammer and anvil device. The sole of the club is impressed with the word MASHIE. The club is constructed with a dark-toned hickory shaft that is pinned at the hosel. The grip is finished with a dark, wrapped leather..
