Seve Ballesteros Signed 1980 OPEN Championship at Muirfield Program
This lot features a signed 1980 Open Championship program from the young defending Champion Golfer of the Year Seve Ballesteros following through on the cover. The 1979 Open Championship was held at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club and Seve Ballesteros finished the four rounds as the only golfer in the field under par for his first major championship to bring home 15,000 pounds, three strokes ahead of runner-ups Jack Nicklaus and Ben Crenshaw. The program has been clearly signed with a full-name "9 signature strength" black sharpie by Ballesteros. A very tough signed program to find of the five-time Major winner who passed away in 2011 at 54 years of age. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
