Sergio Garcia's 2004 Masters Sunday Final Round Low Score Vase Trophy

A cherished prize from Phil Mickelson's first Masters victory is this 1/1 crystal Low Score Vase Trophy awarded by Augusta National to then future champion Sergio Garcia for his brilliant 66 final round Sunday! This significant opportunity should not be taken lightly. Though not a green jacket this award and similar one's for a hole-in-one, eagle or double eagle are presented for outstanding feats yearly during the Masters. They are highly prized by player's and known in short on the Tour as "Master's Crystal." For Sergio Garcia this prized piece of his trophy case was earned with the low round among participants during the final round Sunday in '04 with 'El Niño' firing a 66. An even-par 72 in the first round, Garcia followed that round with a matching out and then a 3-over 75 on Saturday prior to his scorching 66 in the final round. This experience would give Sergio a trial run at his eventual career defining moment 13 years later that Sunday afternoon. The Spaniard played his final 12 holes in the 2004 Masters Sunday 4th round a remarkable 9-under par with seven birdies and an eagle on the 15th Firethorn, coming seemingly out of nowhere for a 4th place finish behind first-time winner Phil Mickelson. While this is a one-of-a-kind item from the 2017 Masters Champion, it must be noted that the base has been taken off the vase in a clean break as shown in the accompanying lot photographs. A truly difficult trophy to obtain this piece occupies an elite stratosphere in Masters collecting hierarchy, displaying nicely on this easel. This incredible showpiece is an exemplar from one of the hottest categories in golf collecting, Masters crystal!
