Seldom Seen Elkington & Co. Bronze Statuette of Harry Vardon - 5"
This lot features a bronze statuette of Harry Vardon made by Elkington & Co in England in 1899. The base measures 3" x 2 1/8" and the statuette stands 5" tall. The base is stamped "Vardon", "Hal Ludlow", and "Elkington & Co." Along with John Henry Taylor and James Braid, Harry Vardon was a member of the fabled Great Triumvirate that dominated the golf world from the mid 1890s through 1910. Vardon was a seven time Major winner, winning the US Open in 1900 and an incredible six Open Championships. This statuette is not seen at auction very often and would liven up even the most extensive collections.
