Ryder Cup 1997 Valderrama Porcelain Card Holder with Comm. Playing Cards by Artist Bill Waugh
The 1997 Ryder Cup was held at the Valderrama Golf Club in Sotogrande, Spain. This marked the first time the cup was held Europe. The European team won the competition by a margin of 14½ to 13½ and retained the Ryder Cup, although it was not easy as the USA staged a comeback in the singles matches. This lot contains a porcelain card holder with a decorative cover displaying of the Ryder Cup, hand crafted by Bill Waugh. This is accompanied by playing cards (still in package), whose decorative backs are based off of other golf paintings by Bill Waugh. The card holder measures 7 1/4" x 4 3/4" x 2". The playing cards are standard poker size.
