Robert Boyd's 1990 US Open at Medinah Contestant Bag Tag, Plaque & Patch
This collection of golf memorabilia pertains to professional golfer Bob Boyd's participation in the 1990 U.S. Open Championship held at Medinah Country Club. The group includes a commemorative participant plaque, an official contestant badge, and a commemorative lapel pin. The plaque consists of a rectangular wooden base with a mounted brushed brass-tone metal plate. It is engraved with 1990 UNITED STATES OPEN and BOB BOYD, featuring the Medinah Country Club logo in green and red enamel. The reverse includes a carved keyhole slot for wall mounting. The official contestant badge is a circular plastic tag with a blue and white color scheme. The front is printed with 90th U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP, BOB BOYD, and CONTESTANT, along with the venue and dates of June 14-17, 1990. The reverse displays the United States Golf Association logo with an eagle and shield. A maker mark for MILLER 14 GOLF is embossed on the top edge. The commemorative lapel pin is square with a black border, featuring the tournament title and Medinah logo. A secondary smaller pin is affixed to the front showing the Medinah clubhouse and Course No. 3.
