Presented here is Ray Floyd's 10k gold medal from the 1969 World Series of Golf at Firestone Country Club. From 1962 through 1975, the event consisted of 36 holes stroke play pitting the 4 Major winners against each other. Each player received a gold medal and this was Floyd’s 1969 medal. Ray Floyd, as the winner of the PGA Championship, faced off against Orville Moody, George Archer, and Tony Jacklin. Ray finished 3rd behind winner Orville Moody and runner-up George Archer. This medal is originally sourced from the Ray Floyd Collection and comes with an original Letter of Provenance signed by Ray’s son, Robert Floyd, verifying its authenticity. This item measures 1 1/2" in diameter and weighs 20 grams.
