Ray Floyd's 1977 Ryder Cup Contestant Bullion Blazer Crest / Badge

1977 marked Ray Floyd's third Ryder Cup appearance for Team USA. He would go on to be selected for five more teams as a contestant and one more as a captain (1989). With intricate detail, this piece uses gold stitching to encompass the famed crossing flags below the Ryder Cup trophy and above the matches year. The United States flag crosses the Great Britain flag on this contestant badge, the final match-up that lasted from 1927 until 1977. These bullion badges are highly sought after due to their presentation qualities and when it is from an 8-time Ryder Cup member's personal collection the intrigue grows exponentially. It is 4 1/4" tall and 3 inches wide. This item comes from the Ray Floyd Collection and a signed letter from Robert Floyd will come with the lot.
