Rare Tiger Woods - Nike Ltd Ed First Tiger Woods Victory Scorecard - Issued to Campers Circa 1996
The extreme limited quantity of this card cannot be stressed enough, as this red outlined oversize card was distributed to Tiger Woods campers on the East Coast or in Florida circa 1996. The card that was not mass produced by any stretch of the imagination has only been seen twice by The Golf Auction in person, and merely read about by most in the 'Beckett' 2002 January/February issue of the hobby magazine. "I figure there probably weren't enough cards for all the campers; plus, as you know, many times things such as these get destroyed or thrown away," Director of Nike Junior Camps from 1996-1998 and Buchanan Fields Golf Course Head Professional Tony Roberto told the publication in regard to the seemingly impossible to find card. The card geared towards the junior golfer identified with their situation, featuring a copy of Tiger Woods' first official tournament (and victory) scorecard across the back of this vibrant red outlined card. Tiger was only 4 years 5 months old and includes each of his putts. Tiger scored a 120 at The Country Club of Los Angeles on June 24, 1980 with his dad Earl as his scorer, earning a win in the 10-under division. The Nike states below the backside image "Ok, here's the bad news. If you're old enough to read this, you're probably already too late to win a golf tournament at a younger age than Tiger Woods did." This card was distributed to the campers and remains in great condition, as they received it. High praise goes not only to the condition of this prize, but the unicorn Tiger card itself. 3 1/8" x 6 7/8"
