Prestbury Golf Club Hole in One Trophy
This trophy was awarded in 1970 for a hole in one on the 158 yard 17th hole at Prestbury.
The Prestbury Golf Club was founded in 1920. Per the club website Harry Colt collaborated with Dr. Alistair Mackenzie on the course design. 18 holes were opened for play in 1924.
The 6” trophy is mounted on a plinth which bears a hallmarked sterling name plate. It is surmounted with three crossed clubs consisting of two irons and a wood. A golf ball rests on the crossed clubs.
Overall an excellent display piece from a ‘hidden gem” English club that recently celebrated its centenary and is located in the Cheshire countryside just 15 miles south of Manchester.
