Ping Karsten Anser Manganese Bronze Sound Slot Putter
This is a vintage right-handed Ping Anser putter manufactured by Karsten Manufacturing Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona. The club head is cast from manganese bronze and features the iconic heel-toe weighted blade design with a plumbers neck hosel and a single alignment sight line on the top rail. A notable feature of this specific model is the sound slot, or floating face, which consists of a horizontal slit cut into the sole behind the striking face to produce a distinctive acoustic feedback upon impact. The putter is fitted with a stepped steel shaft and a modern Super Stroke Traxion Tour grip in white and grey. Maker marks in the cavity are cast in relief and read PATENTED, KARSTEN MFG. CORP., BOX 9990 PHOENIX, ARIZONA, and MADE IN U.S.A. 85068. The heel bump is stamped PING and the toe bump is stamped ANSER.
